Whether you are striving to take your martial arts and fitness training to the next level or maybe you are just a beginner thinking of starting up you are most welcome to come and join in.
Universal Self Defence is still the best way to become super fit and more aware of your environment and our martial arts classes are a great way to keep you and your family safe and healthy. More importantly training with Universal Self Defence is the best way to take more control of your life and to become more self motivated so you feel empowered!
All our Usda instructors are not only highly qualified, they are also very keen to help you achieve your goals.
There is no need to wear a uniform if you are just starting out and want to try out one of our classes.
Just come along and see the instructor at least ten minutes before the class starts and wear whatever casual clothes that you feel most comfortable stretching and exercising in. Best not to wear any shoes, watches or jewellery as they can get in the road during some of the training and will need to be removed.
The good news for beginners is Universal Self Defence classes are much safer than most physical sports and are very easy to join in, in fact most people are able to easily follow more than 90 to 95 percent of their first lesson straight away.
Here at Universal Self Defence we like to focus on keeping our training both simple and practical as we believe if a self defence technique is too complicated then it is less likely to work in a fast moving pressure situation when defending yourself against an attack.
As a beginner you are encouraged very much to go at a pace that is most suited to your experience and fitness level and not concern yourself with being too competitive. This allows you to take more time to establish your fundamental basic technique to develop a most important skill base that will really pay off in the long run.
Whilst it is good to copy the technique of those that are much more experienced than yourself, you do not want to try to go at the same pace and intensity until you also have a similar level of experience.
This is were a good instructor is your best asset as they know the best techniques and the best pace for you to work at so you get the most out of your training experience.
If there is not a Universal Self Defence or martial arts class near you then perhaps we can still help your martial arts and fitness training via our web store where you will find a massive range discount martial arts and all sports fitness training products.
You will be amazed just how much great martial arts and functional fitness training gear there is to choose from.
