Always keep your valuables in a safe place. Count your money out of view.
Handbags should be held in front of you. You are a very easy target if you leave your valuables unattended and are not always looking for potential threats around you. Avoid carrying anything you cannot afford to lose. If you must leave valuables in the car, lock them up in the boot, out of sight.
Don't use Auto-Teller machines if you can see someone suspicious loitering around.
If someone holds you up with a weapon, then follow the robber’s instructions and do not resist. Personal safety is more important than property. Try to stay calm. Don't stare at the robber or do anything to make them uneasy. Observe as much as possible. Remember details and characteristics. As soon as it is safe, write down your observations and call police.
